Sterling Script Lines - S3: Episode 4
1) Gene, as he inches the accelerator up to 25 while Sally is at the wheel and neighbors honk behind them: Go around!
2) Anita, about Peggy moving to Manhattan: You're gonna be one of those girls? Peggy: I am one of those girls. 3) Ho Ho, about jai alai: The ball goes 75 miles per hour. And it's got Patxi. He's like Babe Ruth, only handsome. I'm terrified of him catching balls in the face. 4) Don, after the initial meeting with Hoho: In the Depression, I saw someone throw a loaf of bread off a truck. It was more dignified. 5) Gene, to Sally: You can really do something. Don't let your mother tell you otherwise. 6) Joan, suggesting copy for a roommate ad to Peggy: Fun loving girl, responsible sometimes, likes to laugh, lives to love - seeks size 6 for city living and general gallivanting. No dull moments or dull men tolerated. 7) Katherine Olson, after Peggy tells her she wants to get an apartment in Manhattan: You think I'm the kind of mother who'd rather have a new TV than a daughter? 8) Betty, about her father: Once he asked what was going to happen when he gets to heaven and he has two wives. William: Knowing Gloria, I don't think that's going to be a problem. 9) Sal, to Kitty: For the last six months, maybe a year, I've watched my job disappear. No one wants illustrations. It's all photography. And yes, I'm nervous, and now I have this opportunity to do something that really does have a future. 10) Horace Sr, about his son: When we put that money aside for him, he was a little boy. We didn't know what kind of person we were making. |
