Things We Should Have Said
- When we talked about Don looking at Sally sleeping in his bed and flashing back to Dick Whitman watching his father die, we didn't explicitly draw the connection between the trauma both children witness. Dick watches his father's death, and Sally has a front row seat to the disintegration of her parents' marriage.
- We didn't explicitly mention all this is happening on Friday the 13th.
- We should have drawn the connection between Peggy's line, "I don't want to make a career out of being there so you can kick me when you fail," and her line in Season 2 in the car with Bobbie Barrett when she tells Don, "I don't want you treating me badly because I remind you of it." Both times, she's 100% correct, and it's not vindictive, and he knows it.
