Car salesman: Those are wonderful when you're trying to get somewhere. This is for those who've already arrived. 2) Cadillac Salesman: I bet you'd be as comfortable in one of these as you are in your own skin. 3) Roger: Do you know how invigorating it is to write a check for $6500 and not care? 4) Don, to Smitty after he reads part of the Port Huron statement: That's a beautiful sentiment. Does your friend know what you do for a living? Smitty: Yeah, there was a shitty note with it. 5) Smitty: It's how our whole generation feels . . . we don't want to be told what we should do or how we should act. We just want to be. 6) Jane (looking at Cooper's painting): So it's smudgy squares. Huh. That's interesting. Sal: It must mean something. Ken: Maybe it doesn't. Maybe you're just supposed to experience it. When you look at it, you do feel something, like looking into something very deep. You could fall in. 7) Bert, to Don: There are few people who get to decide what will happen in our world. You have been invited to join them. Pull back the curtain, and take your seat. 8) Roger, to Jane: I could see someone wanting to reprimand you seriously, but firing? That's a little permanent. 9) Kitty, to Sal: Do you even see me here? 10) Jimmy, to Betty: Oh, come on - look at them. I know her and you know him and there they are and they don't care where we are. |

Things We Should Have Said
- Jimmy's manipulation with the phone call is more about blowing up Don's life than Betty's, although of course it has that effect, too
- Betty's staring at a piece of art with a horse while she's alone at the party, and horses are what she uses to escape the monotony of her marriage this season
- We don't see Pete Campbell this episode - apparently there was enough sycophancy and cruelty to go around without him
