[00:00] Musical Intro Jenna: Hi, I'm Jenna. Steve: And I'm Steve. Jenna: Welcome to the first episode of all things Mad Men, from Chip and Dip to Zou Bisou. Do you watch too much Mad Men? We started this podcast to connect to Mad Men fans like us who pick up something new with every rewatch. Steve: Now, be advised, this podcast will include spoilers so we can talk about all the character arcs all the way through the final season. This is really not intended to be a podcast for those who have not yet seen Mad Men. Jenna: If you have strong feelings about elements in Mad Men, you are in the right place. We'll be breaking down each episode of Mad Men, debate and celebrate the memorable moments, and pose some questions to listeners so we can get your insights. So let's get started with Mad Men from Chip and Dip to Zou Bisou. Steve: Episode 1. The pilot is called Smoke Gets in Your Eyes, written by Matthew Weiner, directed by Alan Taylor. The script was written five years before the pilot was filmed back in 2006. The instrumental theme song is A Beautiful Mine by RJ D2. Weiner heard this song on NPR and reworked it for the show. Let's talk about the opening sequence. We are so excited to publish our first set of podcast episodes!
You can find us on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, iHeart Radio, Pocket Casts, and YouTube, and on our host platform. Like Peggy, we're brand new and hoping to accomplish big things, so please leave us all the great reviews and likes, and share and subscribe - that's what the podcast's for! |
